"Between-Two-Worlds" memories are those of a Eurasian, whose roots go deep into two worlds, two cultures, two spiritual universes, one unfolding in the Far East, the other in the West. This volume, the first part of a trilogy, tells the chaotic story of a child who had to change his double identity - Vietnamese and/or French - according to circumstances. Rooted from early childhood in Indochinese soil, totally immersed in family traditions, he however felt, as a teenager, very sensitive to the "West Winds". The war in Indochina, which he lived closely, took him away from the banks of the Red River towards the refugee camps of Saigon for a tumultuous year, his last in Asia.
